You know, I really like Anonymous videos.  I’m  not totally sure why.. maybe because they are so science-fiction.   Its creepy when the familiar narratives of a whole genre come crashing down on our heads…

How many sci-fi novels, movies, and TV shows have dealt with the dystopian themes we struggle with currently?  Governments and corporations controlling the flow information and winning the public’s minds by promising them comfort from the fear and evils that are displayed.. Unlikely heroes who emerge and put a crack in facade of lies at great personal risk and sacrifice.  Dystopians aren’t about good vs. evil, they are about human vs. society.

I love good narrative, and I bet you do too.  I mean, we all go to the movies to see this stuff and identify with the protagonists.  So why not when it is happening around us?  Because we aren’t as courageous as our imaginary selves are?

This is how i want to put my children to bed every night.  one of the best songs ever…

Hillary Clinton’s remarks about Bradley Manning. Yuck.

For those who don’t believe that Bradley’s personal life and sexuality may be used against him by officials or media critics, this gem of information was presented in a recent Vanity Fair article about Hillary Clinton, while on tour in the Middle East:

“Hillary told staff that she could not fathom how an army private, Bradley Manning, with psychological problems and a drag-queen boyfriend could single-handedly cause the United States unprecedented embarrassment just by labeling massive downloads as Lady Gaga songs.”

Were those comments verbatim, or just the ill-chosen words of the author? We probably won’t know, but one thing is for sure: they were published in a major pop-culture outlet, so there is no taking them back.

If Hillary did indeed say anything of the sort, it is yet another reminder of the Obama administration’s willingness, almost as retaliation for their own embarrassment, to disregard public outcry about Bradley Manning’s charges and detainment and the fact that he has not yet been convicted of any crime.

dust when i say stone

I recently had a visit from my father.  He is a lot different then he used to be, and we don’t always get along so well.  He used to write peotry though, and after he left i found myself looking through my old papers for a poem that he once wrote (he never showed it to me, but a friend of his passed it on) and so here it is.

In some dark corner
Where light has never shown,
Where winds have never purified.
Nor echoes known.

My worms have crawled,
My embarrassments,
My piles of bone.

I have searched it out.
Year by year it’s grown
Of unconsumated pain
And losses I could not sustain,
Or face alone.

It mocks me from the darkness,
Whispers “dust” when I say “stone.”
Black for my white, It gives me rag for my bone.

My name is Jason Haynes. I am from Pittsburgh, PA & I support Bradley Manning because he brought truth to light for the world to view. What the State calls evil good men call courage.

For fun, I am going to share a photo a day from my portfolio.
I took this in Copenhagen during the COP25 climate summit.  He was swinging at the guy standing next to me.  We were trying to non-violently gain access to the UN Center to hold a “People’s Assembly.”  A lot of folks got beat up.  I had to buy a new camera lens when I got home, because it got hit a few times (instead of my face, thankfully) and the AF got messed up.
